6. To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
7. The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
8. Jesus for President by Shane Clayborn
9. A Million Miles in a Thousand Years by Donald Miller
reasons-
1. Because I got it for an award at our Fine Arts Banquet [FAB] and the author's name is fabulous.
2. Because I'm a vegetarian and I'll be off to college in the fall and I want to take good care of my body.
3. Because it was a gift from my respected youth pastor, and I've heard it's a good book.
4. Because, even though it's from the '70's, I think it could be a great resource for ideas for volunteering and organizations and causes to help out where I am.
5. Because my mom bought it for me forever ago and I never read it.
6. Because I think that some books just need to be re-read in life. Also, this year is it's 50th anniversary/birthday.
7. Because I read a Fitzgerald short story once and LOVED it. And it's a classic that I can't believe I've gotten away without reading it so far!
8. Because I think Shane is engaging and imaginative and radical.
9. Because I have to for school!

3. Because one of my favorite teachers suggested it and I found it at the Friends of the Library book sale, so I bought it. I think I'm most excited for this one.
4. Because I started them a while ago, and I need to finish.
5. Because, once again, some things are made to be re-read.
6. Because I have an unhealthy obsession with Greek tragedy and I need to fulfill my insatiable desire for it.
7. Because I didn't actually read it in school, but I think I'd like it.
